Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Taz Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and M J Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shain has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shain scores with a punch to the head.
Rutten misses the body punch
and Shain counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rutten takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Rutten connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shain's hands.
Shain scores with a decent looking hook.

Shain tries to keep at a distance but Rutten has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shain tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shain ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shain no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Shain looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Rutten has picked Shain up and slammed him! Shain can't keep hold of the triangle and Rutten manages to pass to side control!

Rutten swings around for an armbar but Shain sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rutten's guard.

Shain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rutten works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Shain takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Rutten gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shain tries to pull guard but Rutten forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Taz Rutten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of M J Shain.
Shain tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rutten just stands there and leans against the cage.
Shain blocks an uppercut.
Rutten prevents a body shot from Shain.
Shain tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rutten smiles and moves away.

Shain shoots in for a takedown but Rutten shows good takedown defense.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shain is on top in guard.

Rutten has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Shain doesn't defend quickly enough and Rutten has managed to lock this one up! Can Shain escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Rutten on a fantastic submission victory.
