Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Allu Asikainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Calaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Allu Asikainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Calaway!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Asikainen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Asikainen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Calaway.
Asikainen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Asikainen shoots in looking for a takedown but Calaway manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Asikainen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Asikainen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Calaway swivels and escapes.
A slow jab from Calaway misses its intended target.
Asikainen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Calaway throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Asikainen sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Calaway feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Asikainens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Calaway throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Calaway throws a hook to the side of Asikainen's head but Asikainen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Calaway displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Asikainen.
Calaway throws an overhand right that lands on Asikainen's shoulder, as Asikainen tries to avoid the shot.

Asikainen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Calaway swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Allu Asikainen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Calaway lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Asikainen circles away quickly and effectively.
Calaway fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Asikainen manages to avoid it.
Mark Calaway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Calaway throws a body punch but Asikainen moves out of range.
Calaway dips to his left and cracks Asikainen with an uppercut!
Calaway misses with a hook. Asikainen ducked under it nicely.
Asikainen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Calaway cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Asikainen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Calaway as he avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Calaway showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Calaway misses with an uppercut. Asikainen saw that one coming.
Asikainen misses with a takedown attempt - Calaway sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Calaway throws a right and a left that Asikainen avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Calaway will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well Calaway has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
