PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Berkowitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Berkowitz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nathan Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Berkowitz!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berkowitz doesn't manage to clinch there - Drake circles away.
Drake shoots for a double leg takedown but Berkowitz sprawls well. He's pushed Drake's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Drake tries to score a power double leg takedown but Berkowitz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Drake somewhat.

Berkowitz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Drake to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Berkowitz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Drake defends it easily.

Berkowitz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Drake escapes and throws Berkowitz's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Drake connects with a nice short shot to Berkowitz's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Berkowitz has his foot on Drake's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drake works his way back into a safe position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Drake, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
