Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Garry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emere Hoehne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoehne has chosen Monster as his entrance music. Emere Hoehne has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoehne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Smith is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hoehne can't fight it off and eventually Smith manages to take the fight to the floor. Hoehne looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hoehne had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.
Hoehne is wriggling around but Smith manages to pass to half guard.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hoehne doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.
Hoehne tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hoehne is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.
Hoehne gets back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hoehne manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Smith has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Smith is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Hoehne is forced to tap! Great finish!
