These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 23 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ron Mexico!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mexico. Frost does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mexico throws out a loose jab but Frost uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mexico lands a jab to Frost's midsection.
Mexico misses with a kick to the body.
Mexico throws a leg kick that misses.
Mexico needs to keep his hands up - Frost had a free shot at his head there.
Mexico works Frost's body with a nice hook.
Ron Mexico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Frost instigates a clinch.
Frost blocking some punches.
Mexico looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Frost creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mexico's defenses.
Frost misses with a knee to the head.
Mexico swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mexico struggles to land a body shot inside as Frost controls his hands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mexico jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frost walks away with a smile on his face. Mexico gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Frost uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mexico.
Mexico swats away the attempt to clinch by Frost.
Nice straight punches there by Mexico. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mexico.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A nice inside leg kick there by Frost. That's going to slow Mexico down.
Mexico throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Frost.

Mexico shoots in but no luck this time.
Mexico throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Frost sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mexico throws an overhand right that lands on Frost's shoulder, as Frost tries to avoid the shot.
Mexico misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mexico tries to score a power double leg takedown but Frost sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mexico somewhat.
Pegg Frost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ron Mexico.

Frost has taken the fight to the clinch.
A knee to the head by Frost.

Frost gets through Mexico's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Mexico throws a head punch that misses.
Mexico working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Frost scores with a knee to the head.


Mexico is rocked!


It looks like Ron Mexico has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mexico tries to throw a body punch but Frost avoids it by throwing Mexico back against the cage.
Mexico is still on wobbly legs! Can Frost finish him?
Mexico misses with a punch on the inside.
Frost blocks an uppercut.
Mexico seems to have recovered his senses.
Frost landing knees to the body.
Frost lands a knee to the body.
Mexico looks winded!
Frost landing knees to the head.
Frost landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Frost connects with a nasty looking knee right to Mexico's face.
Frost using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Frost jerks Mexico to the side and lands a massive knee to the head that knocks him out cold! Mexico's lifeless body is proped up only by the cage. Frost steps back, hand raised, as the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Pegg Frost!
