Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Vampa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luigi Vampa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Vampa. Simpson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Vampa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Vampa is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Simpson is defending well though. Vampa let's go of the attempt for now.
I really don't envy Simpson right now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Vampa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Simpson avoids it really well and circles away.

Vampa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Vampa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Simpson's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vampa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Vampa's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Luigi Vampa.
Vampa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Simpson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vampa somewhat.

Simpson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vampa has picked Simpson up and slammed him! Simpson can't keep hold of the triangle and Vampa manages to pass to side control!

The ground and pound from Vampa seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Vampa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Vampa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Simpson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vampa.

I really don't envy Simpson right now.

Vampa has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Simpson is in real trouble here. Vampa gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Simpson is tapping out! Vampa wins by rear naked choke!
