The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford misses with a wild body shot.
Malek scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Malek thows a body kick. Ford tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Ford throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ford looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Malek moves out of range of the strikes.
Malek wants to slow Ford down by chopping away at his legs.
Ford looks to score with a jab to the body but Malek is just out of range.
Jacob Ford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

No joy there for Malek, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Malek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ford's waist but Ford gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Malek off to one side.

Malek thows a body shot but no joy.
Malek moves out of range of the leg kick from Ford.

Ford on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Malek lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ford at a distance.
Malek connects with a body shot that sends Ford's belly button to the back.

and Ford counters with a right hand to the body.
Malek walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Ford throws a hook to the side of Malek's head but Malek sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Malek connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Ford closes the distance looking to clinch
and Malek makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Malek counters with a nice leg kick.
Malek throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Malek lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That has opened up Jacob Ford's cut even more.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Malek, as that shot connected.
Ford wants to stay close but Malek steps back to make room for something. Ford seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Malek and Ford drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jai Malek!
After the fight, Jai Malek was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
