PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hawk Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tshering Wangchuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wangchuck is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rapa - Rang Sem Kar Ga Mikar. Tshering Wangchuck told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hawk Gunner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tshering Wangchuck!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunner keeps the fight on the outside.
Wangchuck is looking to clinch but Gunner is avoiding it.
A slapping body kick lands there for Wangchuck.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wangchuck looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tshering Wangchuck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunner shoots in looking for a takedown but Wangchuck manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gunner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gunner swats away the attempt to clinch by Wangchuck.

Gunner misses with the combination.

Tshering Wangchuck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wangchuck defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gunner.
Gunner on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wangchuck. Wangchuck obviously looking to wear him down.
The fighters circling - Gunner throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Wangchuck wants to clinch up but Gunner keeps it at a distance.

It looks like Hawk Gunner has been cut.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Gunner takes an elbow to the forehead.

Wangchuck drops Gunner with a big knee straight up the middle! Gunner is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Wangchuck tries to clinch but Gunner moves out of range.
Wangchuck is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Gunner throws the left hand but Wangchuck avoids the punch easily.
Wangchuck fails in his attempt to clinch.

Wangchuck connects with an inside leg kick.
Wangchuck throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Wangchuck lands a big head kick that sends Gunner tumbling to the mat! Wangchuck takes a step backwards and waves Gunner back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wangchuck tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gunner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hawk Gunner's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Wangchuck lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tshering Wangchuck dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gunner chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wangchuck can pounce on him.
Gunner misses the jab.

Wangchuck takes the fight into the clinch.
Wangchuck has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wangchuck is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gunner is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wangchuck to the mat. Wangchuck regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Gunner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Wangchuck wants to sweep here but Gunner controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gunner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Hawk Gunner has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Wangchuck looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Oh Gunner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wangchuck unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Gunner! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Wangchuck is unloading with more strikes now! Gunner drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tshering Wangchuck!
During a confident post fight interview, Tshering Wangchuck thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
