The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Kaigorodov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kaigorodov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jab Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kaigorodov has managed to get both his arms back between Jab Johnson's legs - danger averted.
Jab Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kaigorodov has gone for a leg lock! Jab Johnson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kaigorodov's guard.

Kaigorodov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jab Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kaigorodov is looking for a triangle but Jab Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
Jab Johnson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kaigorodov's guard.

Jab Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kaigorodov is just riding it out for now. Jab Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Kaigorodov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jab Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
