The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.

Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Dixon, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Dixon against the cage but Dixon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dixon tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.

Dixon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dixon has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

Dixon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Smith is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Dixon rolls with it to try and escape but Smith cranks on the arm and Dixon is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
