And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh Williams!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mercury. Mercury circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


It looks like Freddie Mercury has been cut.
Williams scores with a spinning back kick!
A slow jab from Williams misses its intended target.
Williams turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mercury really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Williams feints and then cracks Mercury's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mercury down.
Mercury is breathing heavily.
Mercury scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Good exchange - Williams coming out on top.
Williams throws a lazy right hand but Mercury sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Williams misses with a looping right.
Mercury throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Josh Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Williams looks to score with a jab to the body but Mercury is just out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Williams.
Williams tries to land a front kick but Mercury steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Williams swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Williams looks to land a left hand but Mercury moved out of range nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mercury has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Williams.
A combination from Williams does no damage.
Williams scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Williams lands a lovely overhand right.
Williams stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


Freddie Mercury's cut is getting worse.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Williams throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Crack! A monster head kick from Williams and Mercury falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Williams!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Josh Williams!
