The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunkin throws a nice outside leg kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dunkin.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dunkin controlling from side mount.
Philip is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dunkin's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Philip moves into full guard.
Philip is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dunkin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Philip on the ground.

Philip wants to sweep here but Dunkin controlling him for the moment.

Dunkin has gone for a leg lock! Philip slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dunkin's guard.

Dunkin has his foot on Philip's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Philip works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kayo Philip was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Philip shoots for a double leg takedown but Dunkin sprawls well. He's pushed Philip's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dunkin lands a nice shot to the body.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Philip has eaten all the pies!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Philip looks for a takedown but Dunkin sprawls well.
Philip changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dunkin tries to avoid it but Philip manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dunkin to the ground. Dunkin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Duce Dunkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kayo Philip.

Philip shoots for a double leg takedown but Dunkin sprawls well. He's pushed Philip's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dunkin leaves Philip with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dunkin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Philip stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Philip wants it to stay on the feet.

Philip shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Philip showed some decent athleticism there.
Philip has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Dunkin holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Philip tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Dunkin wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Dunkin trying to control the action but Philip just sinks the hooks in.

Dunkin avoids the strikes from Philip.
Philip struggling to land strikes to the head as Dunkin covers up.
A lull in the action here.
Well, with Philip on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Dunkin is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Philip is working for a rear naked choke. Dunkin is not defending it well and Philip has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Dunkin refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Dunkin's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
