PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Sir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sidney Aron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sir might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kickstart. The key to victory for Pablo Sir has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sidney Aron!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Aron enables Sir to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aron manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sir postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Aron is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sir, into his guard.
Sir has momentary wrist control but Aron slips an elbow through the middle.
Aron loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Aron connects with a couple of short punches.
Sir is looking for a triangle but Aron pushes his legs off easily.
Aron really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sir is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Aron trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sir looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Aron is defending well. Sir quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Aron has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Sir celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pablo Sir!
Pablo Sir gave a mention to Hopkins Athletics ($6 shirts!) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
