PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Tayson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Gronholm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gronholm has chosen Eeppinen biisi as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Gronholm!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tayson connects with a jab.

It looks like Marcus Gronholm has been cut.
Gronholm showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tayson.
Tayson throws a nice looking combination but Gronholm bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tayson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Gronholm to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Oooh a lovely combination from Tayson sends Gronholm down but not out. Tayson dives into side control looking to finish.
Tayson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gronholm's shoulder. That is not cool.
Tayson in side control lands a decent elbow.
Tayson tries to move to mount but Gronholm blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Tayson controls the position from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The strikes coming from Tayson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Tayson takes a little break here. Gronholm wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Tayson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Tayson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Tayson throws a combination that misses
and Gronholm cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tayson throws a leg kick but Gronholm moved away.
Gronholm misses with a body shot.
Gronholm gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Tayson points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Gronholm wakes up just in time to hear Tayson thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
