PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmund Coulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Savage might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Killing In The Name Of" by Rage Against the Machine. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage has a takedown stuffed.
Coulson ducks under a wild hook from Savage.
Savage moves in looking to clinch but Coulson pushes him off.
Savage fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Savage shoots for a double leg takedown but Coulson sprawls well. He's pushed Savage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Coulson closes the distance and clinches.

Coulson wants to free his trapped foot but Savage is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Coulson is looking for a kimura but Savage is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Coulson to get the leverage.

Coulson is pushing down on Savage's leg trying to pass to half guard. Savage is fighting to maintain full guard but Coulson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Savage has his foot on Coulson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Coulson works his way back into a safe position though.

Savage is looking for a sweep. Coulson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Coulson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Savage doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Coulson.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Savage is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Coulson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Coulson's back!
You can see the frustration on Coulson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Savage has Coulson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Coulson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Coulson lands a hook that snaps the head of Savage backwards.
Savage has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Coulson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Savage tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Coulson smiles and moves away.

Savage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coulson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coulson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Savage is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Coulson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
