Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Welsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hulk Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Welsh!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan throws out a powerful jab.
Welsh fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Welsh clinches up with Hogan and pushes him back against the cage.
Hogan softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Hogan presses Welsh against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Hogan breaks the clinch.
Hogan misses with a left hand
and Welsh counters with a nice uppercut.
Hogan throws a combination that misses
and Welsh counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hogan thinking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Welsh counters with a shoot takedown. Hogan fights it but they end up in guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Welsh has gone for a leg lock! Hogan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Welsh's guard.

Welsh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hogan controls the pace.

Hogan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Welsh, up you get!
Welsh bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hogan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Welsh.
Hogan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Welsh is defended easily by Hogan.

Hogan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Horrible takedown by Welsh or perhaps it was just good defense by Hogan which made him look bad.

Welsh looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hogan lands with an uppercut that bounces Welsh off the cage and back into range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hulk Hogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hogan is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Welsh tries to close the distance and clinch but Hogan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Welsh lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hogan's sensitive parts.
Welsh moves out of range of the strikes.
Hogan misses with a lunging right hand
and Welsh connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Welsh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hogan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Welsh shoots in but no luck this time.

Welsh fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hogan sprawls well initially but Welsh persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hogan gets back to full guard.
Welsh is pushing down on Hogan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hogan is fighting to maintain full guard but Welsh has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hogan is defending against the submission attempts here by Welsh.

Welsh is trying to work for a kimura but Hogan is defending well.
Welsh thows a huge punch but Hogan dodges it nicely.
Welsh prevents Hogan from standing back up.
Hogan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Welsh on the ground.

Hogan wants to stand back up but Welsh manages to pass into side control.

Hogan takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Hogan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Welsh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Welsh swings around for an armbar but Hogan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Welsh's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Rick Welsh will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hulk Hogan.
I think Hogan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
