The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Serra throws a jab when Fernandez was well out of range.
Da Serra throws an overhand right that lands on Fernandez's shoulder, as Fernandez tries to avoid the shot.
Fernandez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Da Serra throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fernandez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Da Serra is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fernandez.

Fernandez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fernandez tries to clinch up but Da Serra circles away and keeps his distance.
Da Serra throws a hook to the side of Fernandez's head but Fernandez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fernandez fails with the takedown
so Da Serra counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Da Serra is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Fernandez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Da Serra is looking to defend but Fernandez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Da Serra! Fernandez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Da Serra taps out and this one is all over!
