Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Brunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Brunner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank James!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Brunner tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Brunner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brunner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
James is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
James moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Brunner with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Brunner chips away with some ground and pound.
Brunner throws a big elbow that misses.

James working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brunner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brunner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Brunner chips away with some ground and pound.

James has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brunner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Brunner postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brunner lands a couple of digs.

James is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

James is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brunner defends well.

James has his foot on Brunner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brunner works his way back into a safe position though.

James had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brunner defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brunner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

James pushes a forearm under Brunner's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Brunner is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank James!
