The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog shoots in for a takedown but Herod shows good takedown defense.

Herod shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Dog slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Herod is pressing down on Dog's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dog is holding on for now.

Dog wants to control but Herod is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dog wants to get back to full guard but Herod has mounted him!

Herod jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dog manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Dog sneaks out the side door and pushes Herod away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Herod thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dog is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Herod wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dog keeps working.
Dog is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Herod's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dog is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Herod scores with a couple of nice shots.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they both work up against the meshing.
Dog gets full guard.
Dog is trying to keep Herod in close.
Dog looking to hit a scissor sweep but Herod is one step ahead there.
Herod makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Herod drops back looking for a leg! Dog is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dog manages to kick Herod off! Herod jumps back into Dog's guard.

Osanti Herod dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dog lands a head kick!
Osanti Herod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dog closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Herod keeps the fight on the outside.

Herod has closed the distance and engaged Dog in a clinch.
Dog changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Herod fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Herod bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dog is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Herod has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Dog misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Herod tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Herod has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Herod is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dog has escaped the position, nice work there.
Herod is breathing heavily.

Dog sneaks out the side door and pushes Herod away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Herod drives through and clinches with Dog against the cage.

Herod drags the fight down to the ground.
Herod manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dog manages to get himself to full guard.

Herod drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Herod as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Dog screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Herod! Nice submission victory there!
