PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cas Kitts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cas Kitts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ted Miller!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Kitts misses
and Miller counters with a body kick.
Kitts tries to clinch but Miller is having none of it.
Miller stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Miller wants it to stay on the feet.
Kitts shoots in for a takedown but Miller shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Miller is looking to clinch.
Kitts shoots and misses

and Miller holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cas Kitts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miller tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kitts smiles and moves away.
Horrible takedown by Kitts or perhaps it was just good defense by Miller which made him look bad.
Miller is looking to land body kicks.
Miller shoots in looking for a takedown. Kitts tries to sprawl out of it but Miller keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kitts manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Kitts counters with a head kick.

Kitts gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Miller counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kitts's knee momentarily.
Miller slaps away a takedown attempt from Kitts, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kitts lands with a kick to the temple. Miller shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kitts is breathing heavily.

Miller closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kitts did well to prevent Miller getting side control.
Miller should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Miller working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kitts wants to get back to full guard.
Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Miller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kitts is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Miller pulls his head out easily.

Miller is working for a kimura but Kitts is defending it quite comfortably.
Miller passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miller moves to the back position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Miller is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kitts is defending well though. Miller let's go of the attempt for now.
Miller just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Miller controlling the positon.
It looks like Miller might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kitts has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Miller dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kitts tries to clinch

and Miller counters with a takedown into side control.
Miller controls the position from side control.
Kitts tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miller wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kitts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kitts stops Miller from passing to mount.

Miller is staying tight to Kitts's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Kitts tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Miller presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Kitts tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kitts tries to hold on but Miller postures up.
Miller sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kitts tries to lock up and control but Miller gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ted Miller has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kitts is looking to improve his position but Miller isn't that keen on the idea.
Miller postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kitts looks a forlorn figure.
Miller content just to control the position here.

Miller avoids the attempt from Kitts to control.
Kitts is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kitts is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Miller has taken his back.
Kitts is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Miller.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ted Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Kitts pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kitts misses with a wild combination.
Kitts shoots in but Miller avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Miller moves in looking to clinch but Kitts pushes him off.
Miller stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Miller wants it to stay on the feet.

Miller seems to be working for a kimura but Kitts defends the submission attempt.
Miller passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kitts!

Kitts is in a horrible position here. Miller smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Let's hope that Miller has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kitts keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ted Miller hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Miller tries to clinch there but Kitts circles away.
No luck for Kitts with that takedown attempt.
Miller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kitts pinned against the cage. Kitts gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Miller shoots for a takedown but Kitts saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cas Kitts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ted Miller is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kitts throws a leg kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ted Miller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Miller winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
