The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Phoenix throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Phoenix wants to clinch.
Phoenix has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Dekker.
Phoenix is looking to clinch but Dekker is avoiding it.
Dekker lands a right hook to the body.

Dekker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Dekker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dekker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Phoenix controls Dekker momentarily but Dekker frees himself.
Dekker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Phoenix 's guard.
Phoenix pushes Dekker off but Dekker dives into side control.
Phoenix knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dekker on the ground.

Dekker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dekker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dekker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Phoenix keeps working.
Dekker throws an elbow but Phoenix slips to the side and avoids it well.

Dekker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Phoenix has escaped the position, nice work there.

Phoenix wants to control but Dekker postures up.

Dekker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Phoenix knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dekker creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Phoenix sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Phoenix tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Dekker cranks the arm and Phoenix screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Phoenix , who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
