PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Spar Bjj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Skelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skelton comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Example - Midnight Run kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Manny Skelton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manny Skelton!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Skelton darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bjj dodges the punch combination from Skelton.
Skelton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bjj sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Skelton somewhat.
Skelton fails to land with a series of punches.
Skelton lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Skelton cracks a nice hook into Bjj's ribs.
Skelton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Skelton scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sloppy strikes from Skelton. Those never looked like landing.
Bjj shoots for a takedown but Skelton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Skelton connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bjj. Bjj circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bjj shoots in looking for a takedown but Skelton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bjj's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Oooooh!!! Skelton has knocked Bjj down with a huge combo! Skelton steps away and waves a wobbly Bjj back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Bjj is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Skelton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oh Bjj is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bjj keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bjj gets caught napping as Skelton dives in and scores a takedown. Bjj manages to retain guard.
Bjj is trying to control the position but Skelton postures up.
Bjj seems to have got his legs back now.

Bjj is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Skelton frees his head nicely. Oh but Bjj has switched to an armbar! Skelton is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
