PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neji Hyuuga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antony Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hyuuga comes into the arena with Ona Tańczy Dla Mnie - Weekend blaring out of the sound system. Antony Smith will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hyuuga waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hyuuga throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Hyuuga ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Hyuuga throws a hook but Smith blocks it.
Hyuuga avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hyuuga walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Smith connects with a looping right hand.

Hyuuga manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Smith on his heels. He'll look to pass Smith's guard now, I'm sure.

Smith is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hyuuga stays in close to Smith's body and controls the position.
Hyuuga's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hyuuga drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hyuuga jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hyuuga pushes down on Smith's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Hyuuga is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smith is trying to stand.

Hyuuga is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Smith has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hyuuga wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hyuuga looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hyuuga decides to return to a standing position.
Smith looks to throw the jab but Hyuuga is out of range.

Smith scores with the left hand. Hyuuga knows he should have avoided that one.
Hyuuga is breathing heavily.

Smith throws a hook but Hyuuga blocks it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Hyuuga crashing down! Hyuuga tries to stagger back to his feet but Smith just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Hyuuga asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
