Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Lapointe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micki Angelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lapointe kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Clint Eastwood. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Micki Angelo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angelo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lapointe's waist but Lapointe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Angelo off to one side.
Angelo shoots in but Lapointe avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lapointe shoots in for a takedown but Angelo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lapointe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Angelo is looking to clinch but Lapointe is avoiding it.
Richard Lapointe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Angelo walks into a left hand.
Lapointe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Angelo to the mat! Angelo manages to get full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lapointe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lapointe wants to control but Angelo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Angelo thows a huge punch but Lapointe dodges it nicely.
Angelo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Angelo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lapointe has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lapointe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lapointe tries to get out of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Angelo wants to stand up but Lapointe is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Angelo leaves Lapointe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lapointe moves out of range as Angelo strikes.
Angelo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lapointe tries to avoid it but Angelo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lapointe to the ground. Lapointe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lapointe tries a head kick but it misses.
Lapointe shoots in and drives through. Angelo sprawls well.
Angelo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lapointe closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Angelo's guard.
Angelo wants to sweep but no luck.
Lapointe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Angelo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Angelo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Angelo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Angelo looking to control but Lapointe is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Angelo cracks Lapointe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lapointe sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Angelo tries to pass to full mount but Lapointe defends it.
Lapointe is not content to let Angelo control the position.
Lapointe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Angelo is working away from the top position though.
Angelo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Angelo fails with an attempt to clinch.

Angelo tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Lapointe counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Lapointe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Angelo as he avoids it easily.

Lapointe slaps away a takedown attempt from Angelo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Lapointe or perhaps it was just good defense by Angelo which made him look bad.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Angelo tries to clinch but Lapointe is having none of it.
Lapointe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Angelo throws out the jab.

Angelo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lapointe swivels and escapes.

Micki Angelo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Angelo wants to stand back up but Lapointe manages to pass into side control.

Angelo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lapointe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Micki Angelo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Angelo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lapointe is fending him off so far but Angelo persists. Nope, Lapointe circles away and we're back to standing.
Angelo has a takedown stuffed.
Angelo rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lapointe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lapointe.
Angelo tries to pull guard but Lapointe forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Angelo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I would just about give that final round to Micki Angelo.
I've got Angelo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
