Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Witcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Witcher scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Witcher decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Witcher throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hammer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hammer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Witcher sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hammer is defended easily by Witcher.

Witcher shoots in looking for a takedown but Hammer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Witcher's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Witcher. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

and Hammer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Witcher shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hammer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Witcher is working Hammer over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Witcher must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hammer is pulling down on Witcher's head. It's preventing any offense from Witcher, at least for the moment.
Hammer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Witcher is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hammer.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
