Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerard Link (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Link has chosen Mr. Trololo as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ethan Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Link. That one must have hurt.
Link swats away the attempt to clinch by Hughes.
Link lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hughes circles away quickly and effectively.
Link throws a shot to the body.
Hughes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Link moves away.
Hughes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hughes looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Link checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Link misses with a few strikes there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hughes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hughes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Link throws a right and a left that both miss.
Link feints and then cracks Hughes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hughes down.
Hughes tries to clinch but Link is having none of it.
Hughes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Link is fending him off so far but Hughes persists. Nope, Link circles away and we're back to standing.

Link is looking to slow Hughes down with leg kicks.

Hughes connects with a body shot.
Hughes missing with a left hand there. Link was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hughes tries to clinch up but Link circles away and keeps his distance.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Link uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hughes.
Hughes shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Link tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Hughes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Link lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hughes will feel that in the morning.
Link fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hughes is out of range.
Link on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hughes. Hughes obviously looking to wear him down.

Hughes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Link moves away.

Hughes shoots in looking for a takedown. Link tries to sprawl out of it but Hughes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Link manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hughes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Link moves away.

Link has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hughes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Link tries to bum rush Hughes with a series of wild strikes but Hughes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Link with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hughes to score with a decent uppercut.
Link lands a really nice looking cross but Hughes seems unphased.
Hughes does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hughes takes a swing at Link's ribcage but misses.
Hughes throws a leg kick which misses Link's front leg but catches the back leg as Link tries to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hughes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hughes advances nicely into full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Hughes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Link looks to throw the jab but Hughes is out of range.
That kick from Hughes tenderised Link's leg. Link is trying to keep his angry face on.
Link has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Hughes clinches up with Link and pushes him back against the cage.
Link looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Hughes breaks the clinch.
Link moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Link misses with a few strikes there.
Link loads up on a big right hand but Hughes slips the punch.
Hughes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Link was well out of range. Poor timing from Hughes.

Link misses with a body kick.
Hughes throws the kick towards the body but Link avoids it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hughes.
Hughes moves away from the strike by Link.
Hughes is looking to wear down Link with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Hughes throws a leg kick that misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hughes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Link throws a right hand that Hughes ducks under and follows up with a left that Hughes also avoids with ease.
Crunch! Link slams his shin into Hughes's torso.

Hughes throws a low kick, looking for Link's leg but Link calmly moves out of range.
Link swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Link decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Link wants to stand up but Hughes is controlling the position.
Hughes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hughes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Link pulls his head out easily.

Hughes tries to roll over but Link keeps him under control.
Link has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Hughes works to full guard.
Hughes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hughes is on top in guard.

Hughes drops back looking for a leg! Link is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Link manages to kick Hughes off! Hughes jumps back into Link's guard.
Link pushes Hughes off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hughes throws out a loose jab but Link uses good head movement to avoid it.
Link looking to land some kicks to the body here.

A close second round but Gerard Link will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Link looks for the body kick but Hughes saw that one coming.
Link scores with a one two! Hughes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Ethan Hughes has been cut.
Hughes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hughes wants to pass the guard but Link is defending well.
Hughes prevents Link from standing back up.

Hughes passes the guard and advances to mount!
Link's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hughes working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Link turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hughes off and cradles Link's limp body as Hughes celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ethan Hughes!
