Machado comes to the cage accompanied by Bate Pesadão. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis misses with a straight right.
Machado tries to clinch but Reis is having none of it.
Reis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Machado throws out the jab.
Reis throws a series of punches but Machado avoids them all with ease.
Machado defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Reis.

It looks like Baptista Reis has been cut.
Machado stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machado wants it to stay on the feet.

Machado lands with a nice body punch.
Machado fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reis, pushing him back against the cage.

Reis tries to circle away but Machado has him pinned against the cage.

Machado manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Machado keeps control of Reis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Nice takedown defense from Machado. No joy for Reis on that attempt.

Machado will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Reis up against the cage.

The cut above Baptista Reis's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Baptista Reis's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

A relieved looking Daniel Machado thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
