Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Braddock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Braddock will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Boyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Braddock!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braddock tries to clinch up but Boyd circles away and keeps his distance.
Boyd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Boyd fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Braddock sprawls well initially but Boyd persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Braddock is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Braddock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boyd is working away from the top position though.
Braddock is in trouble now - Boyd has advanced to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boyd swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Braddock is now in Boyd's guard. A big mistake from Boyd there, giving up the dominant position!

Boyd is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Braddock frees his head nicely. Oh but Boyd has switched to an armbar! Braddock is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
