Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Homer Cox!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Norton!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox tries to clinch there but Norton circles away.
Cox throws a head kick that misses.
Cox throws a leg kick but Norton checks it.
Cox could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A big right from Norton misses.
Cox tries to score with a low kick but Norton moves his leg out of the way.

Norton gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Norton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cox tries to clinch

and Norton moves into the clinch.
Norton lands a knee to the head.
Cox tries to break the clinch but Norton is controlling the position.

Norton drops Cox on his ass with a big knee up the middle! Cox bounces straight back to his feet before the referee can even start a count. We'll have to wait a moment to see if that actually hurt him or not, as he takes the standing 8 count.


Cox is rocked!


It looks like Homer Cox has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cox tries to clinch up

and Norton holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Oh Cox is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cox wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cox seems to have got his legs back now.

Norton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cox tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Norton moves into the clinch.

Norton breaks from the clinch.

Norton clinches up against the cage.

Norton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cox throws a head kick but Norton moves out of range.
Cox moves in looking to clinch but Norton pushes him off.
Cox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Norton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Norton takes the fight into the clinch.
Norton manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Norton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Norton darts in and clinches Cox up against the cage.
Cox is looking to control Norton's arms but Norton gets an underhook and turns him. Now Cox has his back to the cage.

Norton breaks from the clinch.
Norton circles away from the clinch attempt
and Norton counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cox throws a head kick that misses.
Cox on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Norton. Norton obviously looking to wear him down.
Norton throws a leg kick but Cox moved away.

Norton has Cox up against the cage in a clinch.

Cox tries to work over Norton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Norton lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Cox on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Norton lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Norton closes the distance and pushes Cox back into the cage.

Norton lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cox backwards.

Norton keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cox's efforts to push away.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Norton obliges.

Norton throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Norton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cox, pushing him back against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Having scored a knockdown, Josh Norton should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Norton goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Homer Cox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cox wants to clinch up but Norton keeps it at a distance.
Norton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cox throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cox moves in looking to clinch but Norton pushes him off.

Norton rushes Cox and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Josh Norton seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Cox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Norton swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cox throws a series of punches but Norton avoids them all with ease.
Cox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Norton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Norton swats away the attempt to clinch by Cox.
Norton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cox wants to clinch.

Norton moves into range and clinches up with Cox.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice left hand lands by Norton.
Cox tries to circle away but Norton has him pinned against the cage.

Norton lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Cox.

Norton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Norton plants his feet and throws a devastating head kick! It connects square on Cox's ear and has knocked him out cold! No need for a count here as the referee immediately tends to a stricken Cox, crumpled in the corner! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Josh Norton!
