PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felix Blume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shola Ameobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blume comes to the cage accompanied by Kollegah - Endlösung. Ameobi has chosen The Enemy - Away From Here as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blume tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ameobi closes the distance and clinches up with Blume, looking for a takedown. Ameobi pushes Blume against the cage but Blume circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Blume fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Blume.
Ameobi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Blume lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Shola Ameobi has been cut.
Blume thumps Ameobi with a low kick.
Blume lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ameobi looks for a takedown but Blume sprawls well.
Felix Blume has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shola Ameobi.
Blume dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ameobi. That did some damage!

Blume fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ameobi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ameobi walks into a stiff left hand from Blume.
Felix Blume is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blume bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ameobi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Blume and Ameobi goes tumbling to the canvas! Blume follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Ameobi is rocked!

That has opened up Shola Ameobi's cut even more.
Blume is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ameobi is still in real trouble! Can Blume finish him?
Blume knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ameobi on the ground.
Blume has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ameobi seems to have recovered his senses.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Felix Blume wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Blume connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Blume connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ameobi's hands.
Ameobi is trying desperately to land a takedown but Blume is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ameobi.

Blume cracks Ameobi with an uppercut from hell and Ameobi crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Blume's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Ameobi has a closed guard, preventing Blume from standing up.
Blume is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ameobi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Blume wants to control from the top but Ameobi keeps moving.
Blume wants to get up but he can't break Ameobi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blume connects with a leg kick. Ameobi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

A slapping leg kick lands for Blume.
Blume looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Blume backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Ameobi's temple! It sends Ameobi violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Blume celebrates and the doctors try to help Ameobi!
