Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elroy Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Clay could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Elroy Kidd's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Elroy Kidd!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay misses with a series of wild punches.

Kidd shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Clay napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Clay takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Kidd misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kidd postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kidd tries to score with some ground and pound. Clay controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kidd lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Clay down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Clay gets caught flat footed, as Kidd shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Clay lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kidd!

Kidd is desperately trying to improve his position but Clay has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kidd shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Clay manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kidd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kidd has managed to get both his arms back between Clay's legs - danger averted.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kidd. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
