Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between big jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Prescott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prescott has chosen Trapt - Head strong as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, big jay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Prescott!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jay is looking to clinch but Prescott is avoiding it.
Prescott slips a jab and a cross from jay.

jay shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Prescott should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Prescott is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

jay working for a submission but Prescott is keeping him at bay.
Prescott is desperately trying to improve his position but jay has a good base and remains in mount.

Prescott wants to control but jay is having none of it.

jay prevents Prescott from getting the reversal.
Prescott is trying to reverse the position but instead jay has taken his back - oops!
Prescott rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Prescott had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. jay is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Prescott Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take jay's back instead.

Prescott doesn't have the hooks in and jay manages to turn into his guard.
jay trying to control the position from guard on top but Prescott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

jay is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

jay wants to control but Prescott is keeping him busy.

jay is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
jay is taking a breather. Prescott says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
jay seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Prescott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
jay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
jay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Prescott's head.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
jay seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Prescott keeps the fight on the outside.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from jay.
jay tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Prescott keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
jay lands a high kick!
jay looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Prescott counters with a shoot takedown. jay fights it but they end up in guard.
Prescott wants to pass the guard but jay is keeping the position.

jay can't keep his opponent in guard - Prescott advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
jay is trying to maintain the position but Prescott is very close to passing his half guard.

Prescott is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. jay doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Prescott.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

jay pushes Prescott off and gets back to his feet.
jay looks to land a combination. Prescott sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Prescott counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in jay's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for big jay. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Prescott thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
jay controls Prescott momentarily but Prescott frees himself.

Prescott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. jay swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
jay throws a head kick but Prescott moves out of range.

Marcus Prescott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

jay moves in looking to clinch but Prescott pushes him off.

Prescott prevents jay from getting back to his feet.
Prescott thows a big elbow that misses.

Prescott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! jay is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! jay has escaped and now he's on top!

jay is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Prescott's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Prescott's back!

jay is trying to stick to Prescott's back but Prescott is turning into jay. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in jay's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Prescott.

jay regains half guard, as Prescott was trying to land strikes.
jay blocking the ground and pound attempt from Prescott.

jay regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Prescott.
Prescott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. jay swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Marcus Prescott.
I think Prescott has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
