PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Stamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Vinko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerald Stamp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Vinko!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vinko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Stamp feints and as Vinko raises his hands in defense, Stamp changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vinko working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stamp.
Stamp pushes down on Vinko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Vinko is refusing to be controlled, as Stamp sits in half guard.
Vinko looks like he's trying to stand up.

Stamp is working for a submission of some sort.

Vinko kicks Stamp off and gets back to his feet.
Stamp throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vinko lands a big uppercut and Stamp crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Stamp looks OK.

Stamp is rocked!

It looks like Gerald Stamp has been cut.
Vinko tries to stand but can't do so whilst Stamp controls his leg.
Oh Stamp is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vinko postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Stamp to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vinko swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Stamp decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vinko's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vinko pushes Stamp off and gets back to his feet.
Stamp seems to have got his legs back now.
Stamp looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vinko is fending him off so far but Stamp persists. Nope, Vinko circles away and we're back to standing.
Stamp is breathing heavily.
Vinko throws a series of punches but Stamp moves out of range.

Stamp drives through and clinches with Vinko against the cage.

Stamp misses with a hook from the clinch.
Stamp has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vinko avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Vinko prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gerald Stamp. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vinko wants to break free but Stamp has control.
Vinko is looking to break free of the clinch but Stamp has double underhooks.
Nice body punch from Stamp - that landed with a thud.

Stamp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Vinko misses with the combination.
Vinko throws a series of punches but Stamp avoids them all with ease.
Stamp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vinko tries to avoid it but Stamp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vinko to the ground. Vinko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vinko connects with the punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vinko lands with a right and another and another! Stamp is in big trouble! Vinko lands again and this time it's lights out for Stamp! A quality knockout there for Vinko.
