Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Konga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Niko Silva!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Konga. No joy for Silva on that attempt.

Konga moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Konga is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Silva is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Konga misses with a knee strike.
Silva takes a knee right on the jaw!
Konga tries a knee to the head but Silva blocks it.

Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Silva has Konga up against the cage in a clinch.

Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Konga shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Chuck Konga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niko Silva.

Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Konga tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Konga tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Konga looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Konga closes the distance and clinches.
Konga throws a knee to the head but misses.

Konga throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Silva blocks it with crossed arms.

Konga is breathing heavily.
Konga misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Silva.

Silva jumps guard.

Silva has his feet on Konga's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Konga gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva passes Konga's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Silva moves nicely into side control.

Silva has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Konga tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Silva looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Konga looking to stall.

Silva gets a trip takedown into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Silva looking to control and managing it successfully.
Konga might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Konga takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Niko Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Konga.

Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Konga napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Konga knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Chuck Konga is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Konga gets tackled into the cage by Silva. Silva maintains the clinch.
Konga with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Konga tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Silva has Konga pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Konga manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silva tries to pull guard but Konga forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva can't find room to land a body shot as Konga controls the action.

Silva jumps guard.
Konga has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.
Silva throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
Konga wants to stand and escape but instead Silva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Silva throws a big elbow that misses.

Silva gets to his feet - Konga follows without any prompting.
Konga takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Silva scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Silva stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Konga to get to his feet.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Silva stands up.
Silva lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Silva scores with a leg kick.
A head kick misses from Silva.
Konga tries to clinch up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Konga.
Chuck Konga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niko Silva.
Konga tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Konga lands a head kick. Silva smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Niko Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Silva is trying to push Konga away but Konga has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Konga putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Silva in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Konga using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Silva has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Konga is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Silva looking for a guillotine here but Konga defends easily.

Silva looking for a triangle here. Konga is fighting it but it looks tight! Silva pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Konga is tapping out - this one is all over!
