Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ice Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Dennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lights Out. Dennis has chosen Bark at the moon as his entrance music. Jorge Dennis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ice Man!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Dennis!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Man.
Man jabs Dennis to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Dennis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Man to the ground. Dennis is now in Man's guard.
Man controls Dennis momentarily but Dennis frees himself.
Man manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dennis is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Man takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dennis tries to reverse the position but Man maintains control.
Man misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Man controlling from the full mount.
Dennis tries to hold on but Man postures up.

Dennis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Man looking to control but Dennis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Man avoids the attempt from Dennis to control.
Dennis tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Man looking for a guillotine from mount but Dennis is having none of it.
Man content just to control the position here.

Dennis wants to hold on but Man pushes him away.
Man wants to control the pace but Dennis is squirming around nicely.
Man controlling the pace for now.
Dennis tries to reverse the position but Man maintains control.

Dennis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dennis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dennis wants to control but Man is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Man is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dennis has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dennis!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ice Man will probably get the nod.

Man throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd cheers as Man lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dennis doesn't seem phased though.
Man defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dennis.
Dennis walks into a stiff left hand from Man.

Dennis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Man looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Man is trying to improve his position.
Dennis wants to control but Man is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Man can't do much from the bottom here.
Dennis cracks Man with a big right hand but Man just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Dennis looking for the choke but no joy.

Dennis is looking for a choke. Man gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Man manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Dennis wants to sweep here but Man controlling him for the moment.
Man is pushing down on Dennis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dennis is fighting to maintain full guard but Man has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dennis moves into full guard.
Man trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Man's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dennis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Man's guard.
Man seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Dennis looking to pass the guard.

Man has control of Dennis's left arm, preventing Dennis from doing any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Dennis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ice Man.
Nice straight punches there by Man. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Man.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dennis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Man moves away.
Dennis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dennis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Man throws out the jab.
Man doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dennis slips a straight right by Man.
Man misses with a few strikes there.
Man misses with a hook to the body
letting Dennis counter with a right hand.
Dennis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Man's waist but Man gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dennis off to one side.

and Dennis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dennis wants to control from the top but Man keeps moving.
Dennis passes into half guard.
Man has his hands clasped together around Dennis's back. He's all about the action.

Dennis is trying to control the action in half guard but Man is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dennis stalling away here and it's allowed Man to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Dennis throws an elbow that misses. Man uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dennis's guard. Nice move by Man!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dennis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Man is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Man has escaped and now he's on top!

Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dennis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Man controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dennis is adopting a defensive guard.

Man gets to his feet - Dennis follows without any prompting.
Dennis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Man fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dennis manages to avoid it.
A combination from Man does no damage.

and Dennis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ice Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Dennis.
Dennis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Man's waist but Man gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dennis off to one side.
Dennis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Man tries to avoid it but Dennis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Man to the ground. Man escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Dennis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Man sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dennis somewhat.
Dennis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close fourth round but Jorge Dennis will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Man misses with an uppercut.
Dennis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dennis moves into range and connects with a jab.
Man throws a looping overhand right but Dennis ducks down to avoid it.
Man thows a body shot but no joy.
Dennis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Man was well out of range. Poor timing from Dennis.
Man throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice takedown defense from Man. No joy for Dennis on that attempt.
Dennis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Man is fending him off so far but Dennis persists. Nope, Man circles away and we're back to standing.
Ice Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Dennis.

and Dennis counters with a single leg into guard. Man didn't expect that.
Man managing to control the position.
Man wants to get back to his feet but Dennis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Man utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dennis wants to pass the guard but Man is keeping the position.
Dennis trying to control the position from guard on top but Man is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Man pulls Dennis in close to prevent any damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ice Man just wasn't active enough.
Dennis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dennis throws a hook but Man avoids it easily.
Man leaves Dennis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Man tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dennis was well out of range. Poor timing from Man.

Dennis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Man defends it nicely.
Dennis has a takedown stuffed.
Jorge Dennis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Man throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dennis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Man bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Dennis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Man on his heels. He'll look to pass Man's guard now, I'm sure.

Jorge Dennis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dennis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
