Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jaromir Marek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaygo Rivaldo de Davids (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marek 's entrance music is Riot by Three Days Grace. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Davids fails with an attempt to clinch.
Marek moves out of range of the body kick from de Davids.
Nice sprawl there from Marek as de Davids shoots in.
de Davids closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marek circles away.
Marek throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Marek darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marek wants to work for an arm triangle but de Davids is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Marek is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so de Davids is just riding it out for now. Marek eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Marek scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

de Davids is trying to maintain the position but Marek is very close to passing his half guard.

Marek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but de Davids does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
de Davids is looking for a sweep. Marek is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Marek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. de Davids knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
