The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Silva tries to clinch but Ortiz moves away
and Ortiz counters with a lovely shot to the body.
De Silva looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Ortiz misses with a takedown attempt - De Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Ortiz counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Ortiz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ortiz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by De Silva after a bit of a struggle.
Ortiz wants to take the fight to the mat but De Silva manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Thiago De Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joes Ortiz.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ortiz drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ortiz seems to have locked his on tight now - De Silva screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ortiz, as he picks up the win!
