I think Ankutse might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to i ka kane . Magaba has chosen Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magaba throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Magaba blocks a head kick by Ankutse.
Magaba displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ankutse.

Magaba shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ankutse is trying to defend but Magaba finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ankutse has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magaba can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Magaba drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Magaba jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Magaba is looking for a triangle here but Ankutse uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Magaba slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Magaba isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ankutse stacks Magaba on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ankutse!
Magaba is looking to regain half guard here but Ankutse keeps moving and retains side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
