PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Le Chung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sun Kai Ling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chung comes into the arena with Cypress Hill - Latin Thugs blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kai Ling's choice of entrance music: Bailamos - Enrique Inglesias. Sun Kai Ling will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chung shoots in looking for a takedown but Kai Ling manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chung's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kai Ling darts in trying to clinch

and Chung moves into the clinch.
Kai Ling lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Kai Ling is trying to maintain a safe position but Chung gets an underhook and turns Kai Ling into the cage.

Chung has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kai Ling avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kai Ling wants to improve his position but Chung is controlling well.
Kai Ling wants to control but Chung is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Chung will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Chung has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chung shoots in for a double leg but Kai Ling sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Chung counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Chung counters with a three punch combo that has Kai Ling backing up. Kai Ling nods at Chung to acknowledge the strikes.

Chung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kai Ling pinned against the cage. Kai Ling gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Chung fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Chung counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kai Ling's guard now.

Kai Ling can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chung controls the pace.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chung's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kai Ling looking for a sweep. Not yet Kai Ling, not yet.
Chung throws a big right hand that misses.
Chung postures up and lands a big shot to Kai Ling's brow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Le Chung dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kai Ling tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Chung counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Chung is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Chung has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Chung stands up and waves to Kai Ling to follow him.

Chung throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kai Ling's waist but Kai Ling gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chung off to one side.
Kai Ling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Chung manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kai Ling fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kai Ling stuffs the takedown attempt from Chung. Chung gets slowly back to his feet.
Chung tries for a takedown but Kai Ling sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Kai Ling checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Kai Ling closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Chung lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kai Ling really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chung. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kai Ling is looking to get back to full guard here but Chung has managed to pass to side control instead.
Chung is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Chung has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Chung has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kai Ling's face.
Kai Ling tries to reverse the position but Chung maintains control.

Chung fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kai Ling moves out of range of the body kick.
Chung shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kai Ling as he jumps to the side.

Kai Ling drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chung pulls his leg out and moves away.
Chung closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kai Ling circles away.

Kai Ling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Chung manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Chung is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kai Ling is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
