Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, TJ Grant!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant tries to clinch up but Johns circles away and keeps his distance.
Johns scores with a three punch combo!
Grant doesn't manage to clinch there - Johns circles away.

Johns closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johns lands in his opponent's guard.

Johns avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Johns lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Johns trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Johns lands a couple of elbows.

Grant looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Johns stands up and waves to Grant to follow him.
Johns throws a good cross that connects.

Johns takes a swing at Grant's ribcage but misses.

Nice shot lands for Johns.
Johns looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Grant moves in looking to clinch but Johns pushes him off.
Grant doesn't manage to clinch there - Johns circles away.
Grant fails in his attempt to clinch.

Johns closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johns has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Johns has taken the fight to the clinch.
Grant throws an elbow but it misses.
Grant with a knee to the head.

Johns breaks the clinch.
Grant misses with a takedown attempt
and Johns counters with a right hand to the body.
Grant looks gassed!
Johns lands a left and a right that sends Grant crashing to the canvas! Johns dives into mount looking to finish!


Grant is rocked!
Johns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grant on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johns working the ground and pound effectively.
Grant is still in real trouble! Can Johns finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BOOM! Johns connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Johns connects with a bit shot that sees Grant covering up! More strikes from Grant and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Johns is our winner by TKO!
