The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorkildsen has a takedown stuffed.

Plo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thorkildsen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Thorkildsen is looking to reverse the position.

Plo looks up at the clock and then as Thorkildsen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Plo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Thorkildsen is not content to let Plo control the position.

Plo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Plo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Thorkildsen down.

Thorkildsen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thorkildsen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Plo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thorkildsen's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Plo tries to bum rush Thorkildsen with a series of wild strikes but Thorkildsen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Thorkildsen sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Plo is looking to take a break and control but Thorkildsen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Plo connects with a nice short shot to Thorkildsen's temple.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Thorkildsen has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Plo doesn't defend quickly enough and Thorkildsen has managed to lock this one up! Can Plo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Thorkildsen on a fantastic submission victory.
