Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Cornell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Mamute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cornell comes to the cage accompanied by Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Cornell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Mamute!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamute misses with an uppercut.
Mamute thuds his right hand into Cornell's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mamute throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cornell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Andre Mamute seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cornell misses with a low kick as Mamute jumps back.
Cornell throws a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Cornell.
Cornell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mamute is fending him off so far but Cornell persists. Nope, Mamute circles away and we're back to standing.
Mamute throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mamute lands a jab to the nose.
Cornell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mamute moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mamute lunges at Cornell with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cornell's hand.
Mamute dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cornell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mamute drives through and clinches with Cornell against the cage.

Mamute breaks the clinch.
Mamute digs a good body shot into Cornell's ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mamute connects with a nice looking jab.
No joy there for Cornell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mamute throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Tommy Cornell has been cut.

Mamute looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cornell!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mamute wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cornell, who protects the arm well.
Mamute trying to control the position but Cornell is working away.
Cornell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mamute wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mamute connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cornell some visible discomfort.
Mamute has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Check out the look on Mamute's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Mamute working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mamute lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mamute cracks Cornell with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Cornell manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mamute's best efforts.
Mamute scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Mamute seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cornell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mamute seems to be working for a kimura but Cornell defends the submission attempt.
Mamute is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Mamute thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mamute is trying to control. Cornell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mamute missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mamute connects with a nice short shot to Cornell's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cornell is looking to improve his position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mamute lands a nice short elbow.
Mamute wants to take a breather but Cornell is having none of it.
Cornell is trying to control but Mamute manages to pass to mount!
Mamute with shots to the head and body - Cornell looks very uncomfortable down there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! Mamute connects with a massive shot to the dome!


Cornell is rocked!
Mamute postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Cornell badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Mamute around the waist but Mamute pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Mamute is the winner by TKO! Mamute jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Mamute!
