The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirvonen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hirvonen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Wright takes one to the side of the head.
Hirvonen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Hirvonen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wright tries to avoid it but Hirvonen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wright to the ground. Wright escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Payton Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tukka Hirvonen.
Wright throws a leg kick but Hirvonen sees it coming and moves out of range.

and Wright counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hirvonen's guard now.

Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wright looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Hirvonen covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Payton Wright decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
