Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Reynolds !
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ferguson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Reynolds fails with a takedown attempt.
Reynolds closes the distance but Ferguson moves to the side
and Ferguson counters with a head kick.
Ferguson throws a head kick that Reynolds semi-blocks.
Ferguson circles away from the clinch attempt

and Ferguson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Ferguson drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ferguson is controlling Reynolds 's posture.
Ferguson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ferguson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Reynolds has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ferguson is proving hard to escape from.

Ferguson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reynolds defends it easily.

We're going to have a standup here because Josh Ferguson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Ferguson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ferguson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Reynolds has an active guard here but Ferguson has managed to pass into half guard.
Ferguson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ferguson connects with a nice short shot to Reynolds 's temple.

Ferguson is trying to work for a kimura but Reynolds is defending well.
Ferguson slows the pace down in half guard.

Ferguson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Reynolds is looking to escape.
Reynolds looks winded!
Ferguson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ferguson passes the guard and advances to mount!

Ferguson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Reynolds looks a forlorn figure.

Ferguson working for a submission but Reynolds is keeping him at bay.
Reynolds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferguson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Ferguson looking to secure an arm triangle but Reynolds defends it well.
The referee warns Reynolds that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Reynolds is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Ferguson has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ferguson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Reynolds .
Reynolds fails with the takedown

and Ferguson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Well, if Ferguson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ferguson stands up out of the half guard.

Ferguson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reynolds , pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ferguson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Reynolds can't fight it off and eventually Ferguson manages to take the fight to the floor. Reynolds looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ferguson is pushing down on Reynolds 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reynolds is fighting to maintain full guard but Ferguson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ferguson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Reynolds pushes Ferguson off looking to stand but Ferguson dives back in and keeps control.
Reynolds is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Reynolds is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ferguson in particular looking to stall.
Ferguson winds up and cracks Reynolds with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Ferguson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Reynolds actively working from the bottom here.
Ferguson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Ferguson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Reynolds will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ferguson gets the takedown into side control.
Ferguson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Reynolds will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ferguson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Reynolds knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Josh Ferguson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ferguson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Reynolds is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Josh Ferguson!
Josh Ferguson looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I new coming in he was gonna be tough. But tonight I was tougher. We need a flyweight division! Do it! Make it happen please. (10-11-1)'.
