Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between The Valera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacoby Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lombard has chosen Retaliator as his entrance music. The Valera has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, The Valera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacoby Lombard!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valera shoots for a takedown but Lombard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lombard fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Valera misses with a takedown
and Lombard counters with a straight right hand.
Some wild striking there from Lombard.
Lombard throws a nice looking combination but Valera bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Valera shoots in looking for a takedown but Lombard manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Valera's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Valera. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lombard has control of Valera's left arm, preventing Valera from doing any damage.
Let's hope that Lombard has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

and Valera decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lombard's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Valera is fighting to break Lombard's control of his arms but Lombard is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Valera got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lombard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Valera has managed to get both his arms back between Lombard's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Lombard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Lombard is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Valera has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Well Lombard has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
