The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turolla throws a right hand that Veloso ducks under and follows up with a left that Veloso also avoids with ease.
Turolla keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Veloso jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Turolla is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Turolla and Veloso has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Turolla pushes Veloso away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Veloso gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Veloso is looking to take a break and control but Turolla is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Turolla is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Veloso asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Veloso has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
