Els kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cassidy - Wake Up. Pain has chosen AC/DC - If you want Blood (You've got it) as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dee Pain!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain scores with a jab.
Els avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pain is looking to land body kicks.
Els slips under a jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pain is defended easily by Els.

Pain closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Els to the mat! Els manages to get full guard.
Pain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pain is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Els manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Els takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Pain connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Pain fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pain feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Els's calf.

Pain clinches with his opponent.
Pain softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.

Els manages to break the clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Pain.
Pain lands with a kick to the ribs.

Pain takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pain looks to throw the jab but Els is out of range.
Pain looks for a takedown but Els sprawls well.
Els delivers a nice body kick.
Nice body punch from Pain.
Pain darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pain fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dee Pain will probably get the nod.

Pain throws a right hand that Els ducks under and follows up with a left that Els also avoids with ease.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pain.
Pain fails to land the takedown.
Els blocks a low kick nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Pain misses the target.
A punch lands to the side of Pain 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pain on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Pain avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Pain is looking to score with low kicks.
Els blocks a jab.
Pain throws an off balance right hand
and Els counters with a good, hard body kick but Pain shrugs it off.
Els with a jab.
Pain closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Good standup being displayed there by Els as he connects with a hook.

Pain has managed to clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pain lands a shoulder strike.

Els breaks the clinch.
Good work by Els as he checks the leg kick.

Pain with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Els to score with a decent uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pain. Els does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pain misses with a wild body shot.
Pain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Els's waist but Els gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pain off to one side.
Els avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Pain has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Els.
Pain is breathing heavily.
Pain gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Els.
Els moves out of range of the strikes.
Els misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Pain with a poor takedown
and Els counters with an inside leg kick.
Ernie Els has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dee Pain.
Pain takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Pain tries to score with a low kick but Els moves his leg out of the way.
Els misses with a wild body shot.

Pain jabbing away but nothing is landing.

No joy there for Pain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Els lands with a straight right. Pain didn't see that one coming.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Els drops Pain with a straight right hand, right on the button! Els follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
