The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marx to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Santos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Santos tries to get out of the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Marx postures up and lands a big shot to Santos's brow.
Marx lands a couple of elbows.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marx is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Marx advances to half guard.
Marx trying to pass the guard but Santos defending well.
Marx wants to work for an arm triangle but Santos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Marx thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Marx lands strikes from half guard.
Marx is nestled in close to Santos, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Santos wants to control but Marx is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Marx scores with a big shot! Santos's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Santos! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
