Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forrest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Forrest Griffin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deshawn Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Forrest Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jackson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Griffin.
Jackson with the ground and pound but Griffin uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Griffin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Griffin trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.
Jackson won't allow Griffin to get back to his feet.

Jackson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Griffin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jackson wants to stand and escape but instead Griffin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Griffin wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Griffin wants to get back to his feet.

Griffin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.

Jackson rushes Griffin and presses him up against the cage.
Jackson crunches a lovely knee into Griffin's ribcage.
Jackson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Griffin wants to break free but Jackson has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Griffin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Griffin lands a really nice looking cross but Jackson seems unphased.

Deshawn Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Griffin can pounce on him.
The fighters circle momentarily. Griffin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jackson tries to clinch there but Griffin circles away.

Jackson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Griffin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jackson seems to have got his legs back now.
Deshawn Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Griffin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jackson.
Griffin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Griffin lunges at Jackson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jackson's hand.

Griffin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Griffin cracks Jackson with an open hand slap.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.
No luck for Griffin with that takedown attempt.
Griffin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Griffin sizes up Jackson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Griffin connects with a nice looking jab.
Griffin lands a jab to Jackson's midsection.
Griffin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jackson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jackson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Griffin works Jackson's body with a nice hook.

Griffin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jackson. Jackson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Griffin lands with a kick to the temple. Jackson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Griffin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Griffin cracks Jackson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Griffin is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Jackson ducks right into an uppercut from Griffin.
Jackson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Griffin lands with a thumping leg kick.
Jackson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Griffin scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Jackson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jackson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Griffin works over Jackson's head and body with a nice combination.

Griffin shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Griffin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jackson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jackson wants to clinch up but Griffin keeps it at a distance.
Griffin cracks Jackson with an open hand slap.

A jab lands there for Griffin.
Griffin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Griffin lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Jackson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
A head kick from Griffin lands but Jackson takes it in his stride.

Forrest Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Jackson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Griffin is trying to maintain the position but Jackson is very close to passing his half guard.
Jackson wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Griffin uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Griffin throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Griffin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Griffin looks to land a combination. Jackson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Jackson has a takedown stuffed.
Jackson takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Griffin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Griffin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Forrest Griffin.
I've got Griffin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
