Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Valko Hai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josef Jaeger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valko Hai!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josef Jaeger!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaeger looks to score with a jab to the body but Hai is just out of range.
Hai slips under a jab from Jaeger.
Hai shoots for a double leg takedown but Jaeger sprawls well. He's pushed Hai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hai looks to land a right hand but Jaeger moved out of range.
Hai moves away from the strike by Jaeger.
Jaeger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hai falls off balance throwing a combination

and Jaeger counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hai gets back to full guard.
Hai is trying to keep Jaeger in close.
Jaeger stands up over Hai, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jaeger distracts Hai with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hai working for a triangle but Jaeger defends it easily.
Jaeger in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jaeger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jaeger chips away with some ground and pound.
Jaeger passes Hai's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hai manages to get to full guard.
Hai looking for a sweep. Not yet Hai, not yet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jaeger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hai is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jaeger defends well.

Hai working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jaeger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jaeger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jaeger's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Jaeger shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hai napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jaeger cracks Hai with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Hai is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jaeger can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jaeger bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Jaeger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jaeger has managed to get both his arms back between Hai's legs - danger averted.

Hai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jaeger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hai is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jaeger defends it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hai lands a nice short elbow.

Josef Jaeger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hai takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Jaeger's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josef Jaeger! Josef Jaeger retains his lightweight title!
Josef Jaeger spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
